A 529 plan is a national college savings program authorized and created under section 529 of the Internal Revenue Code to help families save for their children's higher education. The proceeds from a 529 plan like College Advantage can be withdrawn federal income tax free for use at any accredited post-secondary school in the country.
e-Learning- Web Based Educational Programs OMCE is pleased to announce an innovative program available to all OMCE members and their families. e-Learning, or online courses taken over the Internet, is a flexible and affordable way for M/C employees to improve their knowledge and skills.
Freedom! Available 24/7. Whether it's from the office, or the comfort of home, courses are taken at your convenience from any PC with an Internet connection. Take the course you need, when you need it.
Flexibility! Whether it's a quick two-topic refresher or an entire course beginning to end, OMCE members have the flexibility to take any course (or portion) for one full year of access. Progress at your own pace.
Choice! There is a wide range of courses available such as the Management/Business Library (over 60 courses) valued at over $1,500 but your price is $60. The Desktop Computer Library is worth over $500 but your price is $35. The Administrative Assistant Library worth $1,200 is priced for members at $60 and the IT Professionals Library valued at over $5,000 is yours for $120. All costs are for a one-year (1) period from initial library access.
College Credit/CEUs are given for specific courses through some institutions of higher learning--information is available via the FAQ on the e-Learning website.

Memorial Scholarships
Full-time
$1,250 yearly ($5,000 total) and part-time $500 per year ($2,000
total) scholarships for Regular and Associate members and their
children. High school Seniors and current college, university
students eligible. Forms available in December for submission
by 3/10 of each year.
John Kelly
Labor Studies Scholarship Program
Regular
or Associate members seeking an undergraduate or graduate degree
in labor studies, industrial relations, social science or related
field are eligible for this maximum $2,000 scholarship. Forms
available in December for submission by 3/10 of each year.
OPEIU/Union
Plus® Scholarships
Eligible
members, their spouses, dependent children are eligible for these
non-graduate post high school study awards. Contact OMCE in September
for next year's application. Numerous awards are given and vary
from $500 to $4,000.
NYS AFL-CIO
Scholarship
A $2,000
per year, $8,000 total award to a high school senior pursuing
a career in labor relations or related field. Applications due
each April 15th'. Available in January of each year.
Romeo Corbeil
Summer Camp Scholarships
$2,000
awards given to member's children, step-children, legally adopted
children ages 13-16 only who wish to attend the Union's August
overnight summer camp in Wappapello, MO.
