Putnam College Advantage's 529 Savings Plan Putnam Investments College Advantage is our 529 college savings plan, designed to help families prepare for the costs of higher education. A 529 plan is a national college savings program authorized and created under section 529 of the Internal Revenue Code to help families save for their children's higher education. The proceeds from a 529 plan like College Advantage can be withdrawn federal income tax free for use at any accredited post-secondary school in the country.

Memorial Scholarships
Full-time
($3000 for the first year, and $3000 for the second year – total maximum value
of $6000) and Part-time ($1,200
for the first year and $1,200 for the second year – total maximum value of
$2,400) scholarships for Regular and Associate members and their
children. High school Seniors and current college, university
students eligible. Forms available in December for submission
in March of each year.

Labor Studies Scholarship Program
Regular
or Associate members seeking an undergraduate or graduate degree
in labor studies, industrial relations, social science or related
field are eligible for this maximum $3,000 scholarship. Forms
available in December for submission in March of each year.
OPEIU/Union
Plus® Scholarships
Eligible
members, their spouses, dependent children are eligible for these
non-graduate post high school study awards. Contact OMCE in September
for next year's application. Numerous awards are given and vary
from $500 to $4,000.
NYS AFL-CIO
Scholarship
A $2,000
per year, $8,000 total award to a high school senior pursuing
a career in labor relations or related field. Applications due
each April 15. Available in January of each year.

Summer Camp Scholarships
$2,000
awards given to member's children, step-children, legally adopted
children ages 13-16 only who wish to attend the Union's August
overnight summer camp in Wappapello, MO.
